Daryl Guppy is an internationally renowned private trader, speaker and author of  many books including Share Trading, Chart Trading, Trading Tactics, Bear Trading, Trading Asian Shares,  Market Trading Tactics, Better Trading & Trend Trading.

John Atkinson from this site is a regular contributor to Daryl's newsletter 'Tutorials in Applied Technical Analysis', with his E-book collation of the 'Atkinson-Guppy Articles' available from this website. John and his wife Angela greatly value the support that Daryl has given them.

Daryl Guppy's weekly newsletter may be read by both novice and experienced traders as a form of on-going mentorship by being able to read from Daryl's experiences as he describes the thought processes he has gone through in selecting and managing the trades that he writes about.

TUTORIALS IN APPLIED TECHNICAL ANALYSIS is published weekly by Guppytraders.com Pty Ltd (ACN 089 941 560

on the Internet for readers to collect. Publication is usually over the weekend. The objective is to examine how technical analysis can be applied to market analysis so that you can test the same techniques with greater confidence across stocks in your charting database.

TUTORIALS IN APPLIED TECHNICAL ANALYSIS uses recent price data to illustrate notional case study trades and explain the ways that the tools of technical analysis can be applied to understand market behaviour. Like a weekly textbook, it uses selected charts to explain, for instance, what a stochastic tells us about market sentiment and how it applies to the data. All charts are created with Metastock , Guppy Traders Essentials or Ezy Chart and any indicator and search formulas used are given in these formats. Generally, the notional case study examples do not include any stocks held by the author, but if the stock is held, the authors interest is noted with an *.

As trading is about managing risk, TUTORIALS IN APPLIED TECHNICAL ANALYSIS also tracks a portfolio of notional case study teaching stocks selected from previous newsletter issues. This includes trading comments and shows how the 2% money management rule is practically applied to control losses.

TUTORIALS IN APPLIED TECHNICAL ANALYSIS is not a stock tipping service, nor is it a brokers service giving trading advice. It is not advice about securities nor is it a securities report. Guppytraders.com Pty Ltd is not an investment advisor. The newsletter is a general discussion of selected technical analysis indicators. This newsletter teaches readers about the tools of technical analysis and the notes are based on my experience of applying technical analysis to the market. The material is of a general nature and designed to be used as a tutorial showing how technical analysis can be applied to a chart of price data. Because the information is of a general nature readers should seek advice from their broker or other investment advisors as appropriate before taking any action.
